I think it's a good idea
Somewhere out there is a book with information on the life history of the forktailed bush katydid. I would be interested in reading that book; maybe even purchasing it. But since books on insects, let alone natural history, do not normally make the best seller lists, that book I'm interested in (but don't know I'm interested in yet) has slipped into obscurity. Its gems of observation will sift down into the sediment of hard to recover information that is comprised of most everything written. Not good. That's why I think I really like Google's Library Project. For what my opinion is worth, there it is. Here's some commentary in support of the project from someone much more knowledgeable than me.
