This is Sylvia, a greybird grasshopper with a missing right rear leg who's been hanging out in my backyard for a couple weeks; at least that's when I first noticed her. It looks like her leg has been missing awhile, maybe since before she made her final molt. She seems friendly, but no doubt it's just because she's a bit slower to flee than the ordinary Schistocerca nitens. Anyway, here she is on Juan's aeonium thinking about fleeing as I get too close with the camera.
