A few days ago this green lynx spider,
Peucetia viridens, was found subduing its paper wasp prey,
Polistes exclamans. Today, nutrients derived from that wasp's body have been incorporated into the spider eggs inside this first lynx egg case (that I've seen) this year. Protein to protein, polysaccharide to polysaccharide; always cycling, rarely resting.
