Gerbera



















When they first came on the market I decided to try the Everlast gerbera daisies. I like them. The flowers aren't as large or brightly colored as the "regular" gerbers but . . . you don't need to pamper them, the slugs don't annihilate them, they stand up to heat and drought, they bloom nicely all year long, they don't sulk if you forget to fertilize them. The plants I started with three years ago have just gotten larger and healthier as time goes by. The small white flowers are understated but pretty, the foliage is lush and dark green.

And, if you occasionally forget to deadhead, they don't punish you.
