Milkweed bug melange
The large milkweed bugs (Oncopeltus fasciatus) continue to be active in spite of the cooling weather and shortening days. The middle two pictures were taken in late November, the first and last in mid December. The agglomeration of immatures was found on not-milkweed (Catananche caerulea) in the early morning before the sun was up. As the clump of nymphs received sunlight they began to unclump and move away from each other.
