This assassin bug (
Zelus renardii) with wings deformed in a botched final molt has been hanging around on this gomphrena plant about a week. Of course, these slow-moving predators do that (hang around) even when they are perfect, like this second one seen on the
acacia iteaphylla. So it's hard to tell how the wing deformity effects the fitness of the one. My guess is it will be less successful finding a mate.
