This is a sample of young green lynx spiders (
Peucetia viridans) from the back garden, where their ancestral home the
Abutilon palmerii met its demise last winter. They have spread out and taken up residence in a variety of spots, seeming to favor hirsute, scabrous, tomentose or even hispid leafed or stemmed plants over those that are merely glabrous.
