Today we celebrate the birthday of Mr. Cardui, Keeper of the Peace, Dreamer of Dreams, Village Greeter, my Knight in Shimmering Armor.
Behind every Good Knight there is a hungry spider, busying herself capturing and eating something. This Pholcus phalangioides is literally hanging out in the sanctuary behind the shield of our porch Knight preparing a meal of an earwig that crawled or flew into her lair. Spiders are so unromantic.
We salute you, Sir Porch (and by association, Mr. Cardui): defenders of the small, the good, the pragmatic earwig eaters.
