Wetness
A week after we hit record high temperatures we're looking out the door in amazement at a dripping world. The stapelia is still blooming, and looks fresh with a sprinkling of droplets across a ready to open bud. A younger bud waits its turn among the fleshy stems. Will there be flies by the time it opens?
A few tomatoes linger.
This shadow on the underside of a privet leaf turned out to be a small fly, minettia flaveola, dead from what appeared to be too much wetness.
