I was strolling around the yard in a pre-year-end daze when I noticed this thick web blanketing a potted aloe like a fog bank. The spider responsible, hololena sp., waits in her funnel shaped retreat for prey to stumble by on a misty day.
I thought this web was a pretty nice example of the funnel web spiders work.
