A week ago, thunderheads rolled over Tustin and a spritz of heavy humidity fell. It was exciting but more of a nuance of the high heat of two days earlier than a change. As the week progressed, it cooled and a few sprinkles fell on our home town parade Saturday. Monday's forecast was for 30% rain, and it did get wet but no outdoor work or fun was cancelled. Today we have rain, full-bodied and over a half inch of it. I got literally drenched tramping around in the yard taking these pictures; nice work if you can get it.
The messy webs were full of water.
Fennel leaves and dried umbels capture lots of drops in their web of sticks and foliage.
The rain was really coming down at this point and my viewfinder was fogged up. Focused by proxy this assassin bug, Zelus renardii, was adorned with water drops as it waited out the storm among the milkweed flowers.

You know, I was almost inspired to take pictures of the raindrop-coated rosebushes at school, and other nifty rainy things. But in the end, laziness, and a desire not to get wet, won out.
I like that top picture of the rainy puddle with the (hose?).
I think staying in would have been wiser after all. Yes that is a hose + a chunk of electrical conduit in a hole in the backyard.
