Rain Day 1 1/2

I was a little surprised to find this assassin bug out in the open in the rain.

Then I saw another set of long antennae and some beady eyes peeking out from under the daisy flower. Another assassin, maybe a romantic tryst? . . . do you like pina coladas? And gettin' caught in the rain?

But, those antennae are black and white striped and not jointed . . . the coy one turns out to be a katydid nymph and looks awfully close to being prey.

Hmmm, picnic in the rain sounds kinda romantic, too.
