Great Sunflower Bee Thing

Some people in the San Francisco Bay area are running a bee monitoring project that will be fun to participate in. It's easy . . . you grow a wild sunflower or some wild sunflowers, Helianthus annuus, wait for them to bloom, watch for bees, record your results on the Great Sunflower Project website. Sometime between deciding to participate and recording your results you'll need to sign up at the website. The sunflower/bee people will even send you seeds, but sign up soon because it's already planting season here in southern California.
