Stink Bug

I noticed this green stink bug, Nezara viridula, hanging out on the succulent branches of my sapling desert willow tree yesterday.  Seems a little early in the year for an adult stinker, but our weather seems a little weird for this early in the year too.

Later in the evening a fierce desert wind blew up and all night long threw dust at the windows and rumors of rending tree tissue into my ears.  In the a.m. all returned to calm, no branches were broken, and the stink bug was no longer around.

Wow. Looks like even the bugs are confused by the wether.

Here in NJ it's stink bug season again (fall+summer) So many of them literally fly to my window. I had to take down my air conditioner today because they were passing through it to get in. I've lived with them for 5 years now in this house, however i never questioned why they're attracted to homes.... Do you know?
