Rhetorical Question Answered
In July 24 2007's post I posed the question: Where have they (the offspring of the brown widow spider on my green waste bin) creeped off to? I suppose my rhetoric was: obviously they have gone off into other parts of the yard and beware ye unwary gardeners. It is nice to have one's empty words confirmed by concrete evidence once in awhile. Here is one of those offspring setting up housekeeping on the backside of the fence where the trash cans are stored.

This is another critter that I suddenly have way too many of around my house.
I never noticed them before this summer, this being the 4th female I've seen. The neighbor says he has had some in his yard. He brings materials back from the desert; I wonder whether they came in with that, or if they are just becoming more prevalent in OC. Also, the ones in my yard are fairly out in the open, not especially reclusive as I thought their habit to be.
